Mountain Lion Chase!

We had an exciting day when our friend invited us to chase mountain lions! We found the fresh track, the dogs were hot on the trail, all was exciting until Donna & Jake had the lion run at them, within ten feet
from us, it is a good thing the lion was agile because we were frozen in our tracks. The dogs once again were hot on the lions trail! The lion selected a large fir tree to hide from us, once the lion was treed we started the video. As Donna was sitting on the steep hill side, the lion stepped out on a branch just over her head, Watch our exciting video!

Hunting License Change

Happy New Year from Upper Canyon Outfitters!

If ever you wanted to come to Montana this is the year! Montana's nonresident licensing system has changed; both our guided and unguided hunters will be in the general draw. We anticipate a high success rate with the 2011 draw and feel that the 17,000 elk/deer combo pool of licenses will not be sold out. Once you book with Upper Canyon we take the worry out of applying for your license, we will assist you in completing your application. Applications for these licenses must be post marked on or before March 15th. We strongly encourage you to apply on-line to insure the application is correct. Fish, Wildlife, and Pardks Special Licensing Department phone is 406-444-2950.

FWP Website is http://fwp.mt.gov/hunting/
For on line licensing(which we suggest doing) go to http://fwpapp.mt.gov/Als/Index

To insure the dates you want to hunt in Montana, book your dates early. If you don't get a license your deposit is returned 100%. By booking early we will help you with hunting license information and keep you up to date on any changes. We are working hard in legislation to help protect your opportunities to hunt in Montana. The hunting is great don't let these changes discourage you.
