Eastern Sports Show Controversy

We have attended the Eastern Sports Show for over 20 years.  Currently, the company that organizes the show, Reed Exhibitions, has put in place demands and restrictions that will prohibit vendors from displaying and selling items that they have for years.  If Reed Exhibitions stays its course, we will honor the proposed boycott and not be part of the show.  We are planning to fly east to maintain contact with our clients and friends, even if we are not part of the show.

We are looking to hold informational meetings at  local sportsman clubs and speak directly with individuals interested in what UCO has to offer; great fishing, hunting and hospitality.  If you are interested in holding an informational meeting in your area, please contact us to arrange a time and place.

As of right now we have not pulled from the show, we are waiting to see if Reed Exhibition changes their stance.   We want to be supportive of the friends and vendors that have been part of the outdoor show for years and at the same time respect our constitutional amendments.  Please share with us your thoughts.

Jake's Dream Moose

After waiting 33 years to get a moose tag, Jake finally received the tag in the fall of 2012.  He spent the summer and early fall scouting for this bull.  Once he seen it he knew it was the one.

Mountain Lion Chase!

We had an exciting day when our friend invited us to chase mountain lions! We found the fresh track, the dogs were hot on the trail, all was exciting until Donna & Jake had the lion run at them, within ten feet
from us, it is a good thing the lion was agile because we were frozen in our tracks. The dogs once again were hot on the lions trail! The lion selected a large fir tree to hide from us, once the lion was treed we started the video. As Donna was sitting on the steep hill side, the lion stepped out on a branch just over her head, Watch our exciting video!

Hunting License Change

Happy New Year from Upper Canyon Outfitters!

If ever you wanted to come to Montana this is the year! Montana's nonresident licensing system has changed; both our guided and unguided hunters will be in the general draw. We anticipate a high success rate with the 2011 draw and feel that the 17,000 elk/deer combo pool of licenses will not be sold out.
